Exams:  General Information

*(revised 6/26/02)

ECE 330 – Summer 2002

This information applies to all exams – Exam I, Exam II, and the Final Exam

  1. Bring several pens (blue or black) or pencils.  No red ink or red pencils please.
  2. Bring a straight edge or ruler for drawing axes and/or plotting functions.
  3. Exams are “closed-book”.  No notes or other materials may be used except as follows:  You are permitted (and strongly encouraged) to bring your own “equation sheet” with you to the exam - one side only of one 8 1/2” x 11” sheet of paper.  You can write anything you like on your “equation sheet” – equations, definitions, words, sketches, etc.  Everything must be your own “work” and in your own handwriting.
  4. After exams are handed out, please print your name on the front page.  Do not examine contents until instructed to do so.  At this point, I will “walk” you thru the exam and verify that each of you has a properly collated copy.
  5. If you need extra room for calculations, drawings, etc, you may use the back of the previous page.  If there is something you’ve written that you don’t want to be considered when the exam is graded, merely cross it out.
  6. All exams will be conducted during regularly scheduled class times – all exams will be 75 minutes in length.  I will keep you advised of the time remaining – if you finish early, just hand-in the exam and leave quietly.
