Poster Preparation and Presentation plan for
CBE 511 – Energy and Sustainability

The poster session will be 2:30-3:40 in 1413 Engineering Hall (Cheney Room).  WeÕll be setting up 8 foam-core boards on frames after 2 pm, and you will be able to pin your poster up any time 2:15-2:30.  Your poster can be printed on multiple sheets of regular letter paper, or you may choose to use a larger poster printer available in the department. We will likely have posters on both sides of many of the foam-core boards, depending on numbers and sizes.

The HP DesignJet 1055 poster printer is in room 3036, with a default size of 36Ó high by 54Ó wide.  It prints in color off a 50Õ roll of 3Õ wide poster paper.  You may use the default size, or reset to any other length compatible with your materials. Typically, people prepare one large PowerPoint page of the desired size to be sent to the printer.

Most CBE department computers can print to the HP DesignJet 1055 poster printer.  CAE computers do not have access, as far as IÕve seen.  If you donÕt have a computer on the department net, you may use a Òpublic accessÓ point in 2011 Engineering Hall (office of Mary Diaz, across from department headquarters).  This computer is next to the graduate student graphics scanner, and has a note with login information for the public-access account.  You may bring your PowerPoint or other file on a USB flash drive and print from there.  If you have difficulty or questions, you may check with Mary Diaz, with Todd Ninman (2037 EH), or me.

The class period will be broken into 3 25-minute segments, with 1/3 of the class designated to stand by their poster and discuss with the remainder of the class during each segment.
